Tempo Storm have won the RGN Winter Classic II over SPLYCE (16-9 on de_train, 16-11 on de_dust2, 14-16 on de_inferno, and 16-7 on de_cbble, with SPLYCE possessing a one map advantage).
The RGN Winter Classic II was the latest installment in RGN's North American based winter tournament series, this time offering up $10,000 total for teams competing in the double elimination bracket.
Notable teams such as AGG, Winterfox, Enemy, Tempo Storm, and SPLYCE took part and by the tournament's end, SPLYCE came forward to meet the Brazilian team while possessing a one map advantage (as Enemy had knocked out Tempo Storm in the Upper Bracket semifinals).
hen1's skill in winning AWP duels shone in the Winter Classic II final
Despite this cushion of a one map advantage in a best-of-five, Abraham "abE" Fazli & co. of SPLYCE were not able to contain the newfound might of the Brazilian team (who recently defeated Liquid, CLG, and Cloud9 to qualify for IEM Katowice) and went down 9-16 on de_train and 11-16 on de_dust2 early on.
SPLYCE were able to rally on de_inferno with a narrow 16-14 win but a strong T-side from Tempo Storm on de_cbble sealed the deal by giving the Brazilians the map with a 16-7 score and overall first place in the tournament.
